Los Angeles(AL) came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning plating 3 runs using 4 hits. Mark Trumbo led off and started the attack as he lined a base-hit. Josh Hamilton followed and he laced a base-knock. Kendrick then slapped a single scoring a one-base hit run. Kendrick stole second with some aggressive base running. Hank Conger followed, but he was set down on strikes. Alberto Callaspo kept the rally going and drew a walk to load the bases. Erick Aybar was next and he reached on an error plating another run. Albert Pujols then lashed a single scoring the final run of the inning. A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times. Kevin Jepsen(2-1) went 2 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Ernesto Frieri preserved the game for Jepsen, recording his his 9th save. Junichi Tazawa(2-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. After the game, it took a long while before Andy Virostek emerged from his office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood this afternoon, as I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a lot more light-hearted over in the Los Angeles(AL) locker room.'
