The Houston Astros edged the Texas Rangers at Minute Maid Park by the score of
6 to 5.
 
Houston erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning
with 3 runs utilizing 5 base hits.  Chris Carter led off and he lashed a
single.  Brett Wallace next to the plate and he slapped a single.  Tanner
Scheppers then threw a wild pitch.  L.J. Hoes followed and he laced a
base-knock driving in a run.  Hoes got a good lead and stole second.  J.D.
Martinez got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.
Matt Dominguez came next and he ripped a base-hit which accounted for two
additional runs.  Texas made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to
push the needed runs across.  
 
The win was credited to Brad Peacock(1-1) who went 8 innings allowing 5 runs.
Hector Ambriz gained credit for his 1st save.  Scheppers(1-1) suffered the
loss in relief.  By surrending 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning his ERA jumped from
1.13 to 4.15.
