Felix Hernandez whiffed 12 batters as the Seattle Mariners outscored the
Cleveland Indians 2 to 1.

Hernandez(2-3) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for
the Cleveland batters. He didn't allow much, just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9
innings lowering his ERA from 2.61 to 2.32. Cleveland threatened in the 9th
but Seattle was able to put down the rally.

Fausto Carmona(1-2) was charged with the loss. Andy Virostek was upset after
the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike
zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way
it's printed in the rule book.'
