Placido Polanco had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Edwin Jackson retired 12 batters on
strikeouts at Kauffman Stadium where the Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City
Royals by the score of 6 to 2.

Polanco led the offense for Detroit. He singled in the 1st inning, delivered
a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, ripped a solo home run in the 7th inning
and tripled which plated a run in the 9th inning. Detroit had 16 hits for
the afternoon.

Jackson(4-1) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Luke
Hochevar(0-4) took the loss. 'Our guys just weren't seeing the ball today.'
Lee Michaels said. 'Jackson simply dominated us.'
