Scott Baker took a no-hitter into the 8th inning and designated hitter Jason
Kubel had 2 base hits as the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals by a
score of 4 to 3.

Baker(4-2) gave Minnesota a solid outing. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits
and 2 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings. The right-handed Baker lost his chance for
a no-hitter when Mike Jacobs singled with nobody out in the 8th inning.
Kansas City threatened in the 9th but Minnesota was able to put down the
rally.

Joe Nathan recorded the save, his 5th. The losing pitcher was Luke
Hochevar(0-3). He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings giving up 7 hits and 3 walks.
