Jarrod Washburn had an impressive outing and Endy Chavez had 6 hits as the
Seattle Mariners topped the Oakland A's in 12 innings by a score of 4 to 2 at
McAfee Coliseum.

Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings. Seattle won it in the
12th inning. After an out was recorded, Kenji Johjima initiated the scoring
spurt when he reached on an error. After another out, Ichiro Suzuki came up
and he ripped a single. Chavez then doubled. Adrian Beltre followed and he
doubled. Seattle had a total of 14 hits for the game.

Washburn(2-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 11 innings. David Aardsma recorded
the save, his 6th. Santiago Casilla(0-3) suffered the loss in relief. It
was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 2 innings
of work.

With this win, Seattle has a 10-8 record. They have been 5-5 lately. Oakland
can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8
record over the last couple weeks.
