17,904 fans watched an exciting game at Progressive Field.  The Cleveland
Indians topped the Kansas City Royals by the slimmest of margins, 2 to
1.
 
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings.  Cleveland ended up
winning it in the 12th inning.  Jack Hannahan smashed a solo-shot out of the
park resulting in a mighty exciting win for Cleveland and the 17,904 home
town fans in attendance.  Both teams finished the game with 7 hits.  
 
Tony Sipp(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Greg Holland(0-1)
was tagged with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 run and 2 hits in 2
innings.
