Designated hitter Chris Carter launched 2 homeruns at Progressive Field as the
Oakland A's beat the Cleveland Indians by the count of 5 to 4.
 
Carter led the offense for Oakland.  He ripped a solo home run in the 2nd
inning, delivered a solo blast in the 4th inning and doubled in the 8th
inning.  Oakland finished with 10 hits in the victory.  
 
Jarrod Parker(1-1) went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory.
Parker got help from Grant Balfour who earned his 5th save.  Justin
Masterson(1-1) was given the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 10 hits and 4
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
