In a tight game it was the Detroit Tigers 6, the Boston Redsox 4 at Fenway
Park.

Jason Johnson(1-1) had a steady outing. He went 7 innings allowing 11 hits
and 2 walks. Detroit managed 11 hits in their victory.

Chris Spurling gained credit for his 1st save. The loss was charged to Jeremi
Gonzalez(0-1). Detroit scored big getting 5 runs off him in 4 innings.

'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Dave Murray said after the game. 'Johnson did not have command
of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
