Ted Lilly allowed John DePanicis to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and Russ Adams had 2 base hits at Rogers Centre as the Toronto Bluejays beat
the New York (AL) Yankees by the count of 10 to 3.

Toronto wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they blasted
New York (AL) for 7 runs on 4 hits. That early scoring held up. Toronto
banged out 8 hits on the afternoon.

The victory went to Lilly(2-3) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. The
losing pitcher was Shawn Chacon(1-1). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 6
hits and 4 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
