Mark Teixeira cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Texas Rangers defeated
the Minnesota Twins by the score of 9 to 7 at Ameriquest Field.

Teixeira made sure the Texas fans enjoyed themselves. He smacked a three-run
homer in the 5th inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 8th of the
season) in the 7th inning. Minnesota threatened in the 9th but Texas was
able to put down the rally.

Kenny Rogers(3-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 5 runs. Matt Guerrier(0-3) took the loss in relief.

'This was a tough loss,' said John Thomas, 'the kind that sticks with you for
awhile.'
