Jarrod Washburn had a strong outing at Angels Stadium where the Los
Angeles(AL) Angels beat the Oakland A's by the score of 2 to 0.

Los Angeles(AL) jumped out to the early lead in the first inning with 2 runs
using 3 hits. Chone Figgins kicked off the action when he hit a single.
Figgins then stole second base. Casey Kotchman then drew a walk. After an
out was recorded, Vladimir Guerrero stepped up to the plate and he slapped a
one-base hit which scored a run. Bengie Molina stepped into the box and
delivered a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. The early run
support proved sufficient for Washburn(4-1) and Los Angeles(AL). That was
all the run support Washburn required. The pitchers took over after the 1st
inning as neither team was able to score again.

Francisco Rodriguez got the save, his 7th. Dan Haren(2-3) took the loss. He
pitched 8 innings giving up 5 hits and 3 walks.
