29,523 fans watched an exciting game at Nationals Park. The Atlanta Braves
topped the Washington Nationals by the slimmest of margins, 7 to 6.

The game was won by Atlanta with a run in the 9th inning. Chipper Jones
stroked a base-hit. Brian McCann came to the plate and laced a single.
Garret Anderson then lined a one-base hit to load the bases. Yunel Escobar
was up next and he laced a single. Casey Kotchman came to the plate and
grounded into a double play. Atlanta out-hit Washington for the game, 14
hits to 9.

Javier Vazquez(1-0) was the winner allowing 6 runs in 8 innings. Mike Gonzalez
gained credit for his 1st save. Jason Bergmann(2-2) absorbed the loss in
relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings giving up 1 hit and no walks.
