Left fielder Seth Smith had 4 hits and scored 3 times and Jorge De La Rosa
carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning at Nationals Park as the Colorado
Rockies beat the ice-cold Washington Nationals by the count of 5 to 3.

De La Rosa(2-0) gave Colorado a solid outing. He went 7 innings allowing 4
hits and 1 walk. De La Rosa chalked up 9 strikeouts and served up 2 'big
flies'. The left-handed De La Rosa lost his no-hit bid when Nick Johnson
singled with two outs in the 6th inning. De La Rosa got help from Huston
Street who pitched great and earned his 3rd save.

Shairon Martis(0-3) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 4 runs and 5 hits in 4
innings. Colorado now has a record of 7-5. Not able to get much going in
recent weeks, Washington is 0-10 of late and now has an overall record of
2-17, worst in the division.
