Brian Matusz racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts at Rangers
Ballpark where the Baltimore Orioles beat the Texas Rangers by the score of 5
to 1.

Matusz(2-1) gave Baltimore a solid outing. He didn't allow much, just 7 hits
and no walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 5.88 to 4.63. The pitchers
took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.

The loss was charged to Colby Lewis(1-2). His biggest problem was control as
he allowed 9 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. Matusz was asked about his big
strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these
numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands,
everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be
able to take the crowd out of the game.'
