WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Magglio Ordonez robbed Curtis Granderson of a Homerun!

Jeremy Bonderman whiffed 10 batters and left fielder Casper Wells smashed 2
homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Detroit Tigers defeated the New York (AL)
Yankees 15 to 13 at Yankee Stadium.

Wells propelled Detroit to victory. He clubbed a solo home run in the 3rd
inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 6th inning and doubled bringing in two
baserunners in the 7th inning. Detroit bats were very productive in the 2nd
inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 4 hits and the 7th inning when they had
4 runs on 4 hits. New York (AL) made it exciting in the 9th, but they were
unable to push the needed runs across.

The victory was credited to Bonderman(2-1) who went 6 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 7 runs. Jose Valverde earned the save, his 3rd. A.J. Burnett(1-3)
suffered the loss.

'He was really impressive today,' Burnett said of his counterpart. 'Our guys
were just swinging at air.'
