The Tampa Bay Rays edged the New York (AL) Yankees at Tropicana Field by the
score of 3 to 2.

Tampa Bay scored all of the necessary runs in the 5th inning when they scored
3 runs on 3 hits. The highlight belonged to John Jaso who electrified
Tropicana Field when he lost the ball over the fence for three runs. Both
teams totaled 5 hits on the afternoon.

Wade Davis(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing 2
runs. Davis got relief help from Rafael Soriano who gained credit for his 4th
save. Andy Pettitte(2-1) was the loser. Although losing the contest, he
whiffed 9 batters in 6 innings.
