Jon Lester racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts as the Boston Redsox
defeated the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 4 to 0 at Fenway
Park.

Lester(4-2) was tremendous on the mound for Boston. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA from
4.29 to 3.43. Boston managed only 6 hits on the afternoon.

Brad Bergesen(1-2) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 6 hits and 5 walks in 7
innings. Terry Francona was asked about the performance of Lester, 'He had
his good stuff out there this afternoon. The fans really get into it when
the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to give him even more
adrenalin.'
