Casper Wells slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI and Jeremy Bonderman took a
no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Houston
Astros 5 to 1 at Minute Maid Park.

Bonderman(1-1) escaped virtually unscathed against the Houston hitters. He
gave up just 2 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 7.00 to
4.00. The right-handed Bonderman had his no-hit bid broken up by Jeff
Keppinger who doubled with nobody out in the 7th inning. Detroit finished
with just 6 hits in the victory.

J.A. Happ(1-1) was charged with the loss. 'When Bonderman is on like that it
is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,' Brad Mills said. 'He always
pitches well against us.'
