Al Alburquerque was the winner and Victor Martinez had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the
Detroit Tigers defeated the Cleveland Indians in 12 innings 7 to 6 at
Comerica Park.
 
Both teams had scored 6 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Detroit pulled
the game out in the 12th inning.  Jhonny Peralta ripped a base-knock.  Miguel
Cabrera came next and he lined a base-hit.  Martinez then doubled making
Detroit the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  Detroit had 17
hits overall, while Cleveland had 13.  
 
Daniel Schlereth(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Chris
Perez(1-1) suffered the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 hits and no walks in 1
inning.
