In a dramatic ending the Tampa Bay Rays staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Seattle Mariners by the count of 3 to 2.

Tampa Bay scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Casey Kotchman keyed the rally
when he slapped a base-hit. Evan Longoria was next and he drew a walk.
Rodriguez stole third and scored when the ball ended up in the outfield.
Matt Joyce stepped in and he hit a sacrifice fly. B.J. Upton came to the
plate and delivered a one-base hit. Tampa Bay continued their aggressive
style with another stolen base. Johnny Damon was next to bat, but he was a
strikeout victim. Tampa Bay had 7 hits for the afternoon.

Cesar Ramos(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Ramos
was helped out by Kyle Farnsworth who recorded his 8th save. Blake
Beavan(0-1) suffered the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 6 hits in 8 and 1/3
innings.

'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Justin Ruggiano said. 'If
you just keep trying good things can happen!'
