Derek Jeter lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and Chien-Ming Wang came through
with a solid 9 innings as the New York (AL) Yankees defeated the Boston
Redsox 3 to 1 at Yankee Stadium.

Boston was unable to claim the lead after New York (AL) went ahead in the
bottom of the 4th inning plating an isolated run. New York (AL) had only 6
hits for the afternoon.

The win went to Wang(2-1) who allowed 1 run in the game. Tim Wakefield(5-1)
was the losing pitcher. He pitched 8 innings allowing 6 hits and 2
walks.

'Wang took our guys to school' Andy Virostek said. 'Too bad he doesn't pitch
for us - it would make my job a whole lot easier!'
