Right fielder Emil Brown had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Kauffman Stadium as the
Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers in 12 innings by the count of 5 to
4.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Kansas City won the
hard fought contest in the 12th inning. Mark Teahen stroked a base-hit. Joe
McEwing came next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. David Dejesus then drew
a walk. One out later, Brown came to the plate and laced a one-base hit
resulting in a mighty exciting win for Kansas City and the 11,213 home town
fans in attendance. Kansas City and Detroit each finished the afternoon with
11 hits.

Ambiorix Burgos(3-0) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Craig
Dingman(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He pitched 2 innings giving up 2
hits and no walks.
