Rich Harden dominated striking out 11 Toronto batters as the Oakland A's
topped the Toronto Bluejays by a score of 4 to 0 at McAfee
Coliseum.
Harden(2-0) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Toronto offense. He
was stingy on the mound, allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings seeing
his ERA drop from 1.13 to 0.53. Despite losing, Toronto out-hit Oakland 6 to
3.
Gustavo Chacin(4-2) took the loss. Lee Michaels was asked about the
performance of Harden, 'He had his good stuff out there this afternoon. The
fans really get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that
seems to give him even more adrenalin.'
