The New York (AL) Yankees cruised to a 9 to 3 victory over the Kansas City
Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

In the 2nd inning New York (AL) went on top for good as they scored 2 runs on
4 base hits. The key at-bat was by Tony Womack who silenced the crowd when
he doubled bringing in two baserunners. Kansas City was out-hit by New York
(AL), 19 hits to 7.

Randy Johnson(3-1) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Jose Lima(1-3)
was tagged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 8 hits and 5
walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
