Shortstop Michael Young rocketed 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at McAfee
Coliseum where the Texas Rangers beat the Oakland A's 12 to 5.

Young provided the offensive punch. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the
1st inning, lined a single in the 5th inning and lofted a solo-blast
'downtown' (his 7th of the season) in the 8th inning. Offensively, Texas was
a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

The win was credited to Kenny Rogers(2-1) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run.
Joe Blanton(2-3) took the loss. He served up 4 gopher balls in 6 and 1/3
innings.
