WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Victor Martinez blocked the plate, saving a run!

Shortstop Jhonny Peralta homered as the Cleveland Indians defeated the
slumping Detroit Tigers 6 to 4 at Comerica Park.

Cleveland came up with 3 runs in the 5th inning. Casey Blake opened up the
scoring as he smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 5th of the season).
Aaron Boone was next and he drew a walk. Nate Robertson then threw a wild
pitch. Grady Sizemore came up and he reached on an error. Sizemore took off
for second and slid in with a stolen base. Coco Crisp followed, but he was
set down on strikes. Ron Belliard was a strikeout victim, unable to help
out. Victor Martinez then doubled driving home another two teammates.
Arthur Rhodes(2-0) got help from Fernando Cabrera who pitched a perfect ninth
and was credited with his 2nd save.

Robertson(0-3) took the loss. Cleveland continued their winnings ways
improving their record to a division leading 18-8. They are 8-2 in their
last ten games. Detroit can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now
they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
