Alex Rodriguez had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the New York (AL) Yankees defeated
the Boston Redsox by a score of 4 to 3 at Yankee Stadium.

Boston fell behind quickly as the New York (AL) offense came through in the
first inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Mark
Teixeira who came through for the home fans when he popped a two-run clout
over the fence. A.J. Burnett(2-4) got help from Mariano Rivera who pitched
great and earned his 9th save.

The loss was charged to Clay Buchholz(6-1). The New York (AL) ballclub's
record now stands at 15-11. Even with the loss, Boston still has a nice 8-2
record in recent weeks. They are 24-8 on the season.
