Bobby Abreu hit 2 doubles as the Los Angeles(AL) Angels won in dramatic
fashion over the Houston Astros by a score of 2 to 1 at Angels Stadium.

Los Angeles(AL) won the game with a rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 2
hits. Hideki Matsui led off and started the attack as he drew a walk. Abreu
was next and he doubled. Mike Napoli then drew a walk to load the bases.
Reggie Willits got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Maicer
Izturis stepped into the box and doubled making Los Angeles(AL) the winners
and sending the 35,440 fans home happy. Although they lost, Houston did
out-hit Los Angeles(AL) 10 to 7.

The victory went to Kevin Jepsen(2-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Brandon Lyon(0-3) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 2 hits
and 2 walks in 1 inning.

'Now there is a lesson in perseverance for you,' Abreu noted. 'It was looking
pretty dim there for a while, but we just kept plugging away and it really
paid off in spades! And it was great to see the crowd go crazy there at the
end!'
