13,477 fans were treated to a fine game at Kauffman Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Kansas City Royals won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

Zack Greinke(3-3) pitched well for Kansas City in their victory. He went 7
and 1/3 innings and surrended up 10 hits and 1 walk. Chicago (AL) had a
chance in the 9th but they came up short.

Joakim Soria preserved the game for Greinke, recording his his 4th. Gavin
Floyd(3-2) was the losing pitcher. He allowed Kansas City 5 runs in 2
innings of work.

Lee Michaels was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we making good
contact, but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just love winning
these tight ones! It was just our day - no doubt about it!'
