The Kansas City Royals had an easy time of it at Progressive Field defeating
the Cleveland Indians by a score of 9 to 2.

Cleveland was unable to climb back into it after Kansas City went ahead for
good in the top of the 3rd inning plating 3 runs on 2 base hits. After an
out was recorded, Scott Podsednik began the Kansas City spurt when he drew a
walk. Jason Kendall followed and he laced a base-hit. David Dejesus then
belted a three-run homer. Billy Butler was the next batter, but he struck
out. That early scoring was all that Bruce Chen(1-2) needed. Overall Kansas
City out-hit Cleveland 12 to 7.

Chen was helped out by Kyle Farnsworth who recorded his 1st save. Justin
Masterson(2-4) was given the loss. The Kansas City ballclub's record now
stands at 7-12. With the loss, the Cleveland ballclub's record is 12-14.
