Miguel Cabrera had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Kauffman Stadium as the Detroit
Tigers beat the Kansas City Royals 4 to 3.

Detroit came up with 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning. The key offensive
moment was provided by Cabrera who quieted the home crowd when he lined a
base-hit scoring two baserunners. Kansas City had a chance to come back in
the 9th but they came up short.

The victory was credited to Max Scherzer(3-2) who went 7 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Jose Valverde gained credit for his 5th save. Kyle
Davies(0-4) suffered the loss.
