Julio Borbon had 2 base hits as the Texas Rangers defeated the Seattle
Mariners by the score of 6 to 1 at SAFECO Field.

Texas jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they tallied 4
runs on 4 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Both teams' bats
went to sleep after the 4th inning with no runs scored after that point.

The winning pitcher was Tommy Hunter(3-0) who allowed 1 run in 7 and 1/3
innings. Doug Fister(1-4) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around by Texas,
allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.

Texas now has a record of a division leading 17-7. Seattle has a record of
10-12 after the loss.
