Brian Bannister had an impressive outing and Mitch Maier jacked one out of the
ballyard and had 2 RBI as the Kansas City Royals defeated the New York (AL)
Yankees by the score of 8 to 0 at Yankee Stadium.

Bannister(1-2) was tremendous on the mound for Kansas City. He didn't give up
much, just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 5.23 to
2.79. Kansas City had 16 hits for the afternoon.

A.J. Burnett(1-4) absorbed the loss. Kansas City scored big getting 5 runs
off him in 2 and 2/3 innings. 'Bannister just dominated us' losing pitcher
Burnett said. 'Hopefully we can get to him the next time around'
