Jeff Francoeur cracked a homer and had 2 RBI at Kauffman Stadium as the Kansas
City Royals beat the Boston Redsox in 13 innings 4 to 3.
 
The score was tied at 3 after nine.  Finally, Kansas City prevailed in the
13th inning.  Alex Gordon lined a base-hit.  Melky Cabrera followed and he
laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Billy Butler then drew a walk.  Eric Hosmer was
up next and he doubled resulting in a mighty exciting win for Kansas City and
the 35,798 home town fans in attendance.  Kansas City had 11 hits for the
afternoon.  
 
The win was credited to Aaron Crow(2-1) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Daniel Bard(0-2) suffered the loss in relief.  He pitched 2 innings and
surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk.
