Alejandro De Aza blasted 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at US Cellular Field as
the Chicago (AL) Whitesox beat the Texas Rangers by the count of 9 to 2.
 
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by De Aza.  He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 3rd
inning, ripped a single in the 5th inning and blasted a solo shot in the 7th
inning.  Chicago (AL) had 9 hits for the afternoon.  
 
The winning pitcher was Jake Peavy(1-0) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings. Colby Lewis(1-1) was the losing pitcher.  He gave up 8 runs in 7
innings of work.
