Shin-Soo Choo had 2 base hits as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Chicago
(AL) Whitesox in 11 innings by the score of 5 to 4 at Progressive
Field.
 
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Cleveland came out
the victor in the 11th inning.  After two outs Grady Sizemore singled.
Carlos Santana stepped up next and he lined a one-base hit.  Jack Hannahan
then doubled resulting in an exciting win for Cleveland and a raucous
post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Both teams ended up with 10
hits on the afternoon.  
 
Chris Perez(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Chris Sale(0-2) was hit with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3
hits and 1 walk in 1 and 2/3 innings.
