37,696 fans watched an exciting game at Comerica Park.  The Detroit Tigers
topped the Houston Astros by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
 
The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Detroit came out on top in the 10th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Wilson Betemit was the sparkplug when he
slapped a single, and an error was also committed.  Austin Jackson was the
next batter, but he struck out.  Jhonny Peralta then ripped a base-hit.
Miguel Cabrera followed and he drew a walk.  Victor Martinez stepped into the
box and banged out a single.  Detroit totaled 11 hits on the afternoon.
 
Duane Below(1-0) went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Mark
Melancon(1-1) suffered the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 runs and 3 hits
in 2/3 of an inning.
