16,815 fans were treated to a fine game at Minute Maid Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Houston Astros won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
 
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  Houston won the
hard fought contest in the 11th inning.  Brian Bogusevic drew a walk.  Jimmy
Paredes came next and he slapped a one-base hit.  After an out was recorded,
Humberto Quintero then stroked a single giving Houston the win much to the
delight of the home town crowd.  Both teams ended up with 11 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
Mark Melancon(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 3 innings. The loss was
charged to Chris Sale(0-1) in relief.  He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks.
 
Wth the win Houston now has a record of 6-7.  With the loss, the Chicago (AL)
ballclub's record is 2-6, worst in the division.
