Chris Getz had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Kansas City Royals defeated the
Cleveland Indians 6 to 2 at Kauffman Stadium.
 
In the bottom of the 5th inning Kansas City scored 3 runs when they had 4 base
hits.  Mike Moustakas opened up the inning nicely when he laced a base-hit.
Brayan Pena stepped into the batter's box and he was hit by a pitch.  Getz
then slapped a single.  Joe Smith then threw a wild pitch.  Alcides Escobar
came up to bat and lined a single.  Alex Gordon struck out, unable to help
the rally.  Melky Cabrera stepped up next and he ripped a one-base hit.
Billy Butler then grounded into a double play.  Kansas City ended up with 13
hits for the game while Cleveland had 2.  
 
The victory was credited to Danny Duffy(1-0) who went 7 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. The losing pitcher was Josh Tomlin(0-1).  He pitched 4
innings giving up 4 hits and no walks.
